After a breakfast of champions at 6 am, Gordon and Wardset off in the fog. Helen and I finished the packing up and then stopped to add some groceries. Missed the Mcdonalds as we headed out of town. Once we turned East the fog lifted and the temperature climbed. Now, all of a sudden, it is hot and humid with a lovely blue sky. Found a nice coffee stop here in Brule, with internet. It's called Twin Gables. Shared a cinnamon bun. The boys have just caught up to us and had ice water. Too bad we only had the one wide open view of Lake Superior when we came down the hill into Duluth two days ago. I think we are all happy to be moving along again. Thanks to all for your encouraging words. The picture here of the bathroom is to give Judy an idea for her backsplash!
This is the story of how boring people can sometimes do exciting things. In this case father and son are going to bike across Canada in what will be either a great bonding experience or a lengthy estrangement. We are lucky enough to have Madge to support us on this ride and to be joined by Andrew, Souhaila, Marlie, Tom and Helen (And Olin of course). May we be strong of body and mind and may the wind be forever at our backs!
