This is the story of how boring people can sometimes do exciting things. In this case father and son are going to bike across Canada in what will be either a great bonding experience or a lengthy estrangement. We are lucky enough to have Madge to support us on this ride and to be joined by Andrew, Souhaila, Marlie, Tom and Helen (And Olin of course). May we be strong of body and mind and may the wind be forever at our backs!

Travel Day
The travel day from Halifax was great. We met Gordon at the Toronto airport and flew to the Peg. Lorne Brett kindly arranged for a rental car: an Expedition with a hitch. Big and black with all the gadgets. Madge took the wheel and hit the road. Picked up a new bike rack at MEC and off to Brandon where we met up with Helen. Helen served us all a scotch and we were much revived. The rain in Brandon was amazing, about 75 something or other. We had a nice dinner at Remington's; Winnipeg pickerel was really good. Early to bed. Friday morning and I think the rain has finally stopped.
