Surprise for Olin this morning to wake up with his mother beside him. Too early for breakfast at our bb so after waving the boys good bye, Sou and Olin went on an exploring mission. Marlie and Tom arrived from their bb only to have missed the boys leaving and too soon to say hi to Sou. Just the right timing for the three of us to enjoy coffee and a croissant on the deck. They were on their way back to Ontario. So sad to say good bye. It was fun to have them with us. After a sumptuous breakfast and packing up Sou, Olin and I headed out. Wonderful Quebec style houses in all the towns along the way plus always the river flowing by our side. We stopped to see the boats on display at L'Islet sur Mer, but had no time to go into the museum there. Weather was dull and threatening and by the time we caught up with the boys it was raining and lunchtime. Found a nice cafe for soup and salad and fresh rolls. Souhaila suited up and joined the cyclists. The scenery is really pretty with flat fields that stretch to the river and on the other side into the hills. As we approach La Pocatiere and then Kamouaska, the smaller lumpy hills begin to appear in the valley and some of them are islands in the River. Strange phenomenon. Olin and I find our Motel Marinier. No problem unloading all our stuff here. The very wet cyclists arrive shortly afterwards. Cocktail hour is taken in front of the final game of the World Cup of soccer, even though we have a nice back porch. Can't see the river for the fog which rolls in and out. Gordon finds a cute restaurant by the river, very maritime feel. Delicious tapas menu. Another day is done.
