This is the story of how boring people can sometimes do exciting things. In this case father and son are going to bike across Canada in what will be either a great bonding experience or a lengthy estrangement. We are lucky enough to have Madge to support us on this ride and to be joined by Andrew, Souhaila, Marlie, Tom and Helen (And Olin of course). May we be strong of body and mind and may the wind be forever at our backs!

Shediac to Truro
Gordon, Andrew and I left Shediac at 6:30 with light winds and a promise of a sunny and hot day. The views of the shore and water was magnificent. Roads were good and the ride was fun. We stopped at a diner in Port Elgin where we ordered a full breakfast. However Madge called as she knew we had stopped by watching the blog. Caught again. As we started to leave Gordon had a flat, seems he caught a piece of glass. That is eleven flats: Ward 7, Souhaila 2 and Gordon 2. Anyway off again as we rounded the corner into Nova Scotia. Yahoo. The scenery along the Amherst shore was terrific. We stopped for lunch in Pugwash which worked out really well. Souhaila joined us for the run into Truro. Again a pretty trip along the shore until we turned south at Wallace. Eventually we caught a view of the Minas basin. It was hot so we stopped once for a cold drink and fortunately Madge caught us so we could get more water. We arrived at the Tidal Bore Motel about 5:00. We were surprised and thrilled to be greeted by Maggie and Gordon. We had drinks and then ordered in pizza which we ate in the parking lot. At 7:45 we went down to watch the tidal bore. It is really amazing to see the force of nature. Now off to bed.
