Quebec City (Levis) day off

What to say about this day!  We woke up to a clear, beautiful morning with a view over to Quebec from the deck off our bedroom.  Olin joined us at 6:30 and Gordon disappeared!  After pounding us in bed, Olin soon settled into his "fort" of cushions and made up a quiet checkers game with some loose change.  He played quietly until it was time for breakfast at 8.  A minor miracle.  After a delicious breakfast with the gang, plans were made for the day.  Gordon and Olin were going to Quebec on the ferry to check our the music festival and explore.  Ward and Tom also made plans to cross over to Quebec but their plans involved sitting and people watching!  Marlie and I were pretty sure that we would not need to leave our comfortable chairs on the deck in the sunshine.  We needed to catch up on emails and blog stuff.  Quickly it became 11:30 so we decided to stroll down our little street.  Soon found a little store that sold only sausages.  Andrew would have been  vin heaven!  AND, right next door was the most amazing epicerie.  Fresh breads, pates, cheeses, salads--everything we two needed to make ourselves a little feast on our deck.  After lunch, a very small snooze as the boys phoned to tell us that they would be coming back on the ferry pretty soon.  We then made the decision to drive to the ferry terminal with our bikes on the rack, meet the guys, and exchange keys with them so they could easily drive up the huge hill to the bb, and we could get on the ferry.  We had a great trip across, and then biked the path along the St. Charles River after skirting the old town.  It was glorious.  Back to Levis after an hour or so of biking.  A relaxing shower followed and then cocktail hour.  We all exchanged stories of our day.  Gordon and Olin then went to the Intimiste Restaurant to order meals for themselves and starter courses for us all to share.  After dinner we returned to the deck,  and Gordon went to the airport to collect Souhaila.  Olin had been tucked into bed earlier.  I had a great day off!
