Happy Canada Day! The day dawned clear and beautiful, and thankfully, a little cooler. Boys were off and running early with a tail wind.. We could hardly keep up to them. Helen and I did the usual provisioning then stopped for a coffee and cinnamon roll along the way. Took a picture for Doug of the sign in the restaurant: "If you object to logging, try plastic toilet paper". Next stop was a Mcdonalds near Newberry (unexpected) which had the next crazy signs. The picture of Ward holding his sandwich also shows him holding a piece of re-tread tire full of wires--his nemesis ! He has had a lot of flats thanks to these things. Lunch was by the side of the road on a long straight stretch. They were doing so well with the wind that they decided to ride the whole 190 kms to the Soo. Helen and I checked in at our hotel and then we went downtown to view the activity at the locks. Amazing to see those huge Great Lakes boats pass by. Dinner was beside the locks at Karl's. Delicious, fun and a little change-up and variety in food. We still need help on the wine front. It rained while we were at dinner but now has cleared. I have sleeping beauties beside me as I write this. I guess we will miss the fire works from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario! Home to Canada in the morning--hoorah!
