Boys arrived and collapsed after tending to the bikes and then showering. Helen and I did a little exploring. Found a spectacular beach and then one of the waterfalls that dot this area. Also found a shack that was smoking whitefish. Bought some for cocktail hour which was in the parking lot of the motel. Not very auspicious ! Dinner was at Sydney's and was surprisingly quite good. But our sommelier would not have approved of the "boxed wine" choices the last couple of nights. Early to bed and an early start for Canada Day this morning. Weather is great and the riders have a following wind. Helen and I do the usual shopping. Getting anxious to be in Canada once again. Tomorrow! And then on to Mila on the 3rd!! We are amazingly on schedule. Kudos to Gordon for the great planning of the route. Also, both Gordon and Ward seem to be in top form.
This is the story of how boring people can sometimes do exciting things. In this case father and son are going to bike across Canada in what will be either a great bonding experience or a lengthy estrangement. We are lucky enough to have Madge to support us on this ride and to be joined by Andrew, Souhaila, Marlie, Tom and Helen (And Olin of course). May we be strong of body and mind and may the wind be forever at our backs!
